The impact of who was driving at the time of loss. The ₹15 L Compulsory Personal Accident (CPA) cover is available only to the registered owner-driver holding a valid DL for the class of vehicle. For TP / OD, any permitted driver (with valid DL) is covered; a learner must be accompanied by a valid licence holder in the front seat.

Surveyor's verdict / key conditions सर्वेयर की जाँच
For CPA claim: match the DL class to the vehicle. LMV (private car / small commercial up to 7,500 kg GVW), MGV / HGV / HPMV / HTV / HPV (commercial), two-wheeler with/without gear, transport endorsement for taxi / cab. CPA is NOT payable if the owner was a passenger — only if driving. For a hired / paid driver fatality, use the Paid Driver cover, not CPA. Verify DL validity on DOL — expired DL (even by a day) can invalidate CPA; grace period under MV Act lets renewal within 1 year but the DL must be re-validated.
